In addition to their administrative duties, Collegeville Borough‘s Democratic Council members, along with Democratic candidates for the November 2 election, have been busy volunteering in the borough. Over the past year they’ve done cleaning and repair work at two borough parks, Hunsberger Woods and Community Park, helped decorate the borough’s Holiday Tree and volunteered at the CEDC’s Collegeville Colossal Yard Sale in Waterworks Park; setting up, checking in vendors, cleaning up afterwards, and parking cars.

And after hurricane Ida caused severe damage to homes along First Avenue, Councilwoman Kathy Costello organized multiple clean-ups with over 30 volunteers to help the homeowners.  Volunteers sorted large piles of debris and took them to the curb for removal by the county. On Sunday, Oct. 17, they also participated in a large clean up effort to remove flood debris at the location of the new First Avenue Park map it.
